Utilizing and Maximizing CEO Time

Course Objectives

  1. Understand the Value of CEO Time in Practice Growth
Learners will explore the purpose of dedicated CEO time and how stepping out of the clinical day-to-day allows for higher-level decision-making, culture building, and business expansion.

  2. Differentiate Between Critical Thinking and Task Time
Learners will distinguish between low-value tasks and high-impact CEO-level work, identifying when to delegate, when to automate, and when to strategize.

  3. Create and Protect a Weekly CEO Time Block
Learners will schedule a recurring, interruption-free window of time that aligns with their personal productivity rhythms and practice demands, reinforcing consistency over perfection.

  4. Design a System for Pre-Week Planning and Prioritization
Learners will implement Sunday evening planning to outline priorities, review team needs, and identify tasks that can be batched, delegated, or shifted into CEO time.

  5. Implement a Weekly Focus Framework
Learners will follow a structured weekly focus system (e.g., Week 1: Hiring & Onboarding, Week 2: Systems & Meetings, Week 3: Financials, Week 4: Culture & Team Development) to ensure intentional time use.

  6. Eliminate Time Sabotages and Distractions
Learners will adopt tools and boundaries to reduce distractions—such as putting phones on do not disturb, using focus settings, closing browser tabs, and using visual cues (e.g., headphones or “do not disturb” signs).

  7. Empower the Entire Team With Protected Focus Time
Learners will create opportunities for all team members—including associates and department leads—to have their own structured focus time to innovate, reflect, or solve problems.

  8. Develop the Confidence and Mindset to Prioritize CEO Time
Learners will overcome guilt and imposter syndrome often associated with “stepping away” from clinical production or hands-on tasks, embracing their role as visionary and strategist.

  9. Use CEO Time to Enhance Team Culture and Accountability
Learners will use their protected time to assess culture, plan appreciation or team-building strategies, refine onboarding documents, and improve leadership visibility.

  10. Consider the Role of Executive or Personal Assistants in Preserving CEO Bandwidth
Learners will evaluate the benefits of hiring a part-time personal or admin assistant to offload recurring or energy-draining tasks, freeing up time for high-level thinking and personal well-being.
