Course Objectives

  1. Understand the Roots of Team Complacency
    Learners will recognize complacency as a normal human condition that can arise from routine, comfort, or lack of innovation—and distinguish between healthy stability and disengagement.

  2. Identify Early Warning Signs of Cultural Complacency
    Learners will develop awareness of subtle signals such as reduced productivity, lack of initiative, uninspired team huddles, or declining patient care recommendations.

  3. Reignite Engagement Through Curiosity and Connection
    Learners will practice using curiosity, one-on-one check-ins, and authentic conversations to uncover underlying causes of disengagement and rebuild trust and motivation.

  4. Strengthen Leadership Self-Awareness
    Learners will evaluate their own role in fostering or reflecting complacency, and adopt strategies to bring renewed energy, vision, and accountability to their teams.

  5. Implement Systems for Continuous Growth and Accountability
    Learners will design recurring structures such as growth meetings, personal development ladders, and tier systems to challenge team members and prevent stagnation.

  6. Address Resistance to Change With Empathy and Strategy
    Learners will learn to introduce new systems with clarity and collaboration, using trial periods, transparent communication, and a focus on long-term benefits to gain team buy-in.

  7. Discern When to Re-Engage Versus Free the Future
    Learners will establish criteria to determine when a team member can be successfully re-engaged versus when values misalignment or persistent disengagement requires transitioning them out.
